day 6 in the big apple

it’s almost been a full week already! i can hardly believe it. this week’s been full of settling into the apartment and my first week of work.

first, the apartment. it looked a lot bigger when we first saw it… the space almost had a glow about it that day. the glow isn’t gone, in fact i’m sure it will come back quite soon, but right now, it’s just a little dim. first we realized there wasn’t a deadbolt on our door. anyone walking in the hallway could peer right in and see exactly we were up to. after we had a new lock installed, we realize that neither the refrigerator or stove are working. any takers on some rancid beef? i didn’t think so. but, thankfully, new appliances were installed today and then with the exception of a few minor issues, we’re good to go.

on the flip side, i do really like our apartment. the location is good, our neighbors all seem very nice, and i really do like the apartment itself. from the exposed brick walls to the high ceilings, i really do think we’ll be at home here.

and, to make it even better, we have the best mural located directly outside my bedroom window. read the quote — it’s so inspiring!

work’s been good this week — pretty slow, but it feels nice to ease into it. it’s been cool getting a feel for the projects the photo-producer is working on — she’s working with some neat clients too, from furniture to jewelry to food. not to mention the fact that her space is so awesome…literally a block away from everything soho has to offer. and really close to my favorite mexican restaurant, la esquina.

today as i was wandering around soho, i stumbled upon people’s rev! i’d like to believe my internal gps led me there…but really it was foursquare. anywhoo, people’s rev is a really kick ass boutique fashion pr agency - they do publicity and produce fashion shows for some amazing clients. also, kelly cutrone, owner of people’s rev, wrote a fabulous book (yes, i’m slightly obsessed). don’t be surprised if i walk by once a day until i meet kelly…or another member of the crew.

people's rev!

finally, i found the sweetest card in my mailbox today from my good friend carly burger. the message on the card was thoughtful and the “love” keychain made my day. it carries both theta and satc references:). thanks car!!!
