I love fall. And now that it’s here, I went searching for inspiration. Living in KC, it’s a necessity to bundle up in the winter. Layering dresses/pants, sweater, jackets … and cinching a belt for definition is the name of the game. The first look, from Tracy Reese, is perfect. The long swingy sweater jacket pairs perfectly with the floral dress and the cozy leggings and hat add an extra dose of warmth. Camel and brown oxfords add a little polish to the look.

Scarfs and plaid feel so fall. This look from Marc by Marc Jacobs is a bit English countryside with a dash of youth. Everything about this outfit feels so funky and yet, the peplum jacket is perfectly sophisticated.

The skirt and scarf add such a fun pop of color to this third look. I love black just as much as the next girl…I mean, it’s the easiest thing to throw on; however, it gets boring by mid-October. This Marc by Marc Jacobs ensemble is a great of example of infusing color into an otherwise colorless outfit. The electric pops of color are a perfect contrast to the muted tones of the sweater and hosiery. I do love the layering effect seen here with the tights and socks.

I’ve officially been inspired. Time to go raid my closet.
